The Dr. Yglo Wart Treatment Pen is a solution developed for the localized treatment of common warts on the hands and feet. It can be used by adults and children from 4 years of age, provided it is applied correctly by an adult. The pen contains monochloroacetic acid (MCA), an organic acid with keratolytic action that helps to break down the wart layer by layer. The precision applicator allows a small amount of product to be placed directly on the wart, limiting the application to the area that needs treatment. The pen also contains a blue liquid that allows for more precise identification of the area to be treated. The treatment does not produce an immediate result: the acid acts progressively on the upper layer of the wart and, depending on its size and thickness, it may be necessary to repeat the application after a week. The product is intended exclusively for warts located on the hands and feet and should not be used for other skin conditions without professional advice.
Use only once a week. Before application, apply a generous layer of petroleum jelly or zinc-based ointment to the healthy skin around the wart to help protect it. Apply a small amount of the solution directly to the wart using the precision applicator, being careful not to let the liquid run onto the surrounding skin and without going over the same area more than once. Allow to dry for a few moments and do not cover the wart immediately after application. Carefully close the pen after use. Depending on the size and thickness of the wart, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment one week later.
The solution contains monochloroacetic acid and is highly corrosive, so it should only be applied to the wart and with great care to avoid contact with healthy skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. Do not use on the face, genital area, or genital warts, nor on birthmarks, moles, nevi, molluscum contagiosum, open wounds, seborrheic warts, dark-colored warts, hairy warts, abnormal-looking warts, irritated or infected warts. Do not use on warts located totally or partially under the nail. After surgical removal, cryotherapy, or laser treatment, wait at least 4 weeks until the redness or inflammation disappears completely. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children under 4 years of age. In people with diabetes or certain cardiovascular diseases, a doctor should be consulted before use due to the increased risk of prolonged scarring. Irritation, burning, redness, or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. If the wart persists, grows, multiplies, or reappears, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
